How to find My IP Address

This article apply for all computer with Windows O.S and Mac.

 

Remember to connect the computer to the main modem or router, this is your ISP (Internet Services Provider) so you can know your IP address range. 

 Windows 8, 8.1 and 10:
 
1. In your keyboard press the “Windows” key and the letter “R” at the same time, as shown in the image below:

 

 

 
2. Type “CMD” then press “OK”

 

 

3. In the new black window type the command “ipconfig” press the key “Enter” take note of the following IP numbers. The IPv4 address will be a series of numbers following the pattern xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
 
IPv4                                        192.168.X.X
Subnet Mask                          255.255.255.0
Gateway                                192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

Windows 7 and earlier:
 
1. Click “Start” or “Windows Flag Icon” then “All Programs” click “Accessories” and choose “Command Prompt”
 

 

2. In the new black window type the command “ipconfig” press the key “Enter” take note of the following IP numbers. The IPv4 address will be a series of numbers following the pattern xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
 
IPv4                                        192.168.X.X
Subnet Mask                          255.255.255.0
Gateway                                192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

Mac OS X
 
1. From the “Apple” menu, select “System Preferences”.

 

2. In “System Preferences” window select the “Network” icon. In the network preference window, click a network port (e.g., Ethernet, AirPort, WI-FI). If you are connected, you'll see your IP address under "Status:”
