54M Wireless AP Router: Wireless Setup

This article only apply for the Nexxt 54M Wireless AP Router NW230NXT14.


 
Note: Your Nexxt 54M Wireless AP Router is compatible with any Operating System (O.S.), it only requires a web browser to access the configuration main page. (PE: IE, Mozilla, Chrome, Safari, etc.)
 
To setup your router without the CD installation Wizard, follow the next steps below:

1. Connect your Nexxt router to your PC with an Ethernet cable on the LAN port.
2. Verify that your PC has created the Local Area network on Network Connections.
3. Verify that the Firewall and Antivirus system are disabled to avoid any problems or restrictions.


Open your browse and type the IP http://192.168.1.1 to gain access to the router. 



A windows will pop up asking for username and password. In both type “guest”.



When you access your Wireless AP Router everything should be in basic setting and working.
 
Go to “Wireless Tab” you will find “Disabled Wireless” is check, please uncheck it and hit “Apply”. The router will reboot for few seconds, after reboot go the “Wireless Tab”.


In Radio Band choose “802.11b/g”.
In Radio Mode choose “AP+WDS” in case is not as default.
In Booster Mode choose “Check the box” so you can enable this option.
In SSID add “The name for your wireless signal”.
In Broadcast SSID “Hit the Enable box”.
In the Channel “Choose between channel 6 or 12” this are the recommended channels.
After all the setting, hit “Apply” the router will reboot, then hit “Save”.





In the same Wireless Tab you will see the “Security Tab” hit it.
 
In Authentication Type choose “WEP”.
In Accessorial Authentication & Encryption choose “Shared Key”.
In Key Length choose “64 Bits”.
In WEP Mode choose “HEX”.
In Key 1 “Add your wireless password”. In our case is A1B2C3D4E5. You can also use “ASCII” this will be a lower level but you just need to add 5 character for the password work.
After all the setting, hit “Apply” the router will reboot, then hit “Save”



After the reboot you can now add all devices to this network and browse.
