Netgate: Wireless Types (Discontinued)

This article applies for the AELPLDR4U1 Netgate Wireless Access Point for Outdoors.

This router was specifically designed for Outdoor Wireless connections, this has a distance range of 9.3 miles (15 Kms) and is Unidirectional. Also this Access point can be used as a repeater (with WDS), for Client AP or just an Access Point (AP). 

Here are the steps to setup Wirelesss on AELPLDR4u1 Outdoor AP:

1- Enter the IP address of the Netgate "" by default. This will prompt you to type some credentials to access the webpage.


2- Use "admin" as user and password. 

Use Netgate as Repeater

​1- You need a principal router and use the WDS option, when you configure the router go to Netgate webpage.

2- Go to Operation Mode and select “AP”.
3- Go to “Wireless”, “Wireless Mode”.
4- Select “Repeater” and add the Router Mac Address.
5- Click “save".

Netgate in Access Point Mode.

1- This operation mode allows wireless stations, including AP clients, to access this device.

2- In this mode you  need to put check mark to connect in wireless with the same SSID. 

3- Click  in "Save".

Connect Netgate in Bridge Point to Point

1- This mode bridges the AP and another AP also in bridge mode to connect two wired LANs. Enter the MAC address of the second AP labeled MAC of AP.
2- Click in "Save".

Connect Netgate in Bridge Point to MultiPoint

1- This mode bridges the AP and up to 6 APs also in bridge mode to connect two or more wired LANs.  Enter the MAC address of the Root AP in the field labeled MAC of AP1 to MAC of AP6.

2- ​Click in "Save".
