Netgate: Quick Installation Guide (Discontinued)

This article applies for the AELPLDR4U1 Netgate Wireless Access Point for Outdoors.

This router was specifically designed for Outdoor Wireless connections, this has a distance range of 9.3 miles (15 Kms) and is Unidirectional. Also this Access point can be used as a repeater (with WDS), for Client AP or just an Access Point (AP). 

Here are the steps to setup the AELPLDR4u1 Outdoor AP:

1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN port of Access Point PoE PSE module that is included with the unit.

Connect an Ethernet cable from the POE PSE module to your computer.

3. Verify that your PC has created the Local Area network on Network Connections.

4. Verify that the Firewall and Antivirus system are disabled to avoid any problems or restrictions.
5. Once all connected,  open your browser (IE,Mozilla,Firefox,etc) and enter the IP address of the router "" by default. This will prompt you to type some credentials to access the router webpage.

5. Use "admin" as user and password. 

6. Select "Quick Setup" from the main menu in the left column.


7. Click "Next" to activate the next window.

8. The access point has three different operating modes described below to meet the needs of each individual user:

  • AP Client Router (AP Client Router): Choose this mode to allow Internet users to share based on a customer router WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider).
  • AP Router (Router AP): Choose this mode to allow users to share the Internet through a cable modem / ADSL, based on the wireless broadband router settings.
  • AP (Access Point): Choose this mode to allow wireless devices from accessing the network using Wi-Fi signal, based on a configuration as an access point (Recommended).

Choose "AP" and click "Next".

9. Enter your unique user name to identify the wireless network. However, choose an username that is easy to remember for network users. Selech the "Region", "Channel" and "Mode" according to your settings. Then press the "Next" button.

10. Press "Finish" to end the setup process. This will reboot your AP to refresh his settings.

11. Disconnect the LAN cable from your computer and PSE module and then insert the internet cable into the port labeled LAN is in the PSE module to give power surge to the Access Point only.
